A constituição mista de Políbio, desenvolvida no livro VI das suas Histórias, é sem dúvida a teoria política que mais influenciou a conceção dos regimes modernos. O seu interesse reside no facto de, pela primeira vez, uma teoria política ser utilizada para explicar a constituição romana. A sua aceitação na Antiguidade foi, por conseguinte, muito ampla, ao ponto de ter sido retomada e, em grande parte, adaptada na obra De Republica de Cícero. Embora Políbio tenha redigido a sua obra durante o seu exílio em Roma, entre 160 e 150 a.C., decidiu analisar a constituição romana tal como era logo após a derrota de Canas, em 216 a.C., no momento em que a República vivia os seus momentos mais sombrios, 'porque se considera que a única pedra de toque da perfeição num homem é saber suportar com grandeza e nobreza as mudanças radicais da sorte. ' (Políbio, VI, 2, 6). De facto, a recuperação de Roma após este desastre e a sua expansão fulgurante ao longo dos cinquenta anos seguintes levam o grego a questionar-se sobre a natureza da constituição que permitiu tal proeza.

The European Union is introducing a mandatory, standardized EU label to provide information about consumers’ statutory warranty rights. This will be complemented by a guarantee label where a voluntary manufacturer’s guarantee is offered.

The purpose of this new regulation is to make consumer rights more transparent and to establish consistent information standards across the European Union. Consumers should be able to see at a glance which statutory minimum protections apply, regardless of the country or retailer from which they make a purchase.
