Mais l'attitude fermée de cette famille juive n'est pas davantage montrée comme un modèle.Ce roman est comme une vision inversée face à beaucoup de romans antisémites de la même époque (affaire Dreyfus). Nous voyons les choses du point de vue de cette famille.
