"Moralische Wochenschriften" als typische Periodika des 18. Jahrhundert
Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Mediengeschichte, Note: 2,7, Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: "Die Moralischen Journale verbreiteten eine Weltanschauung, die sich nicht primär aufs Jenseits bezog, sondern die Möglichkeit propagierte, den Lebenssinn durch handelnde Bewährung in der Gesellschaft selbst, das heißt also: weltimmanent zu verwirklichen." Mit dieser Aussage betont Jürgen Jacobs die multidimensionalen Auswirkungen der Moralischen Wochenschriften als führende Zeitschriftengattung des 18. Jahrhunderts und bringt dadurch zum Ausdruck, dass ihnen viel mehr Bedeutung beigemessen werden muss, als einem gewöhnlichen Wochenblatt. Denn die Moralischen Wochenschriften markierten nicht nur einen Umbruch in der deutschen Pressegeschichte im Kontext der Aufklärung, sondern beeinflussten die Gesellschaft der damaligen Zeit maßgeblich.Im Jahre 1761 erschien die erste Liste mit einer Übersicht der deutschen Moralischen Wochenschriften, welche bis dahin erschienen sind, unter Beck, welche 1931 von J. Kirchner unter dem Titel "Gesamtbibliographie des deutschen Zeitschriftenwesens bis 1790" ergänzt und vervollständigt wurde . In den folgenden Jahren wurden dann stetig seperate Bereiche untersucht, wie z.B. die Eigenheiten der Sprache Moralischer Wochenschriften oder die Darstellung des Frauen- und Familienbildes in ihnen . Die erste gründliche Erforschung der Moralischen Wochenschriften in ihrer Gesamtheit sieht Jacobs in der 1968 erschienen Arbeit von Wolfgang Martens, welcher sich unter anderem auch mit der Verbreitung, den Themen und der Funktion deutscher Moralischer Wochenschriften beschäftigte .Die vorliegende Arbeit soll dem Leser einen Gesamteindruck und eine Vorstellung von den Moralischen Wochenschriften als Genre geben. Dazu wird in Kapitel 2 zunächst die Entstehung der Periodika thematisiert, sowie ihre Themen vorgestellt und die typischen Gattungsmerkmale mit Bezug auf die Herausgeber und deren Ziele analysiert. Des Weiteren wird auf die Verbreitung der Schriften in Deutschland eingegangen und das Publikum, sowie ihr Interesse an den Schriften erläutert. In Kapitel 3 wird der "Patriot" als bedeutsamste Moralische Wochenschrift Deutschlands vorgestellt und als exemplarisches Beispiel aufgeführt. Zuletzt wird in Kapitel 4 die zentrale Leitfrage nach den Erfolgsgeheimnissen der Periodika, sowie deren Beitrag zur Prägung der Gesellschaft und Pressegeschichte Deutschlands beantwortet.
