"Arabischer Frühling": Konsolidierungsprobleme und deren Erklärungen in der MENA-Region
In der vorliegenden Studie untersucht die Autorin unter akteurstheoretischer und kulturalistischer Perspektive den Konsolidierungsprozess in Tunesien, Ägypten und Libyen.Die Verfasserin führt zunächst in das Thema ein, indem sie Fragestellung, Hypothese sowie gesellschaftliche und wissenschaftliche Relevanz herausstellt, um anschließend einen Überblick über den Forschungsstand sowie die Vorgehensweise der Arbeit zu geben. Der theoretische Rahmen der vorliegenden Untersuchung wird nach der Klärung der zentralen Begriffe Demokratie und Transformation mit Merkels "Mehrebenenmodell der demokratischen Konsolidierung" und der Akteurstheorie von O`Donnell und Schmitter bzw. Huntingtons "Kampf der Kulturen" gezogen. Auf dieser Grundlage untersucht die Autorin mit der vergleichenden Methode den Konsolidierungsstand in den drei Fällen bzw. arbeitet die Erklärung für deren aufgefundene Konsolidierungsdefizite heraus.

To combat desertification, protect the Moroccan forest and respect local traditions, the author has been running an ambitious agro-industrial project called the (H)ALFA Project for the past ten years. The aim of the project is to produce and market fuel briquettes made from the Moroccan biomass found in the alfa beds of the arid Atlas steppes. This book is a compilation of international conferences and scientific publications that have been produced by the author to motivate local entrepreneurship and make this project a socio-economic success in one of the most beautiful regions of North Africa.

This book discusses smart city implementation in 11 smart cities - Auckland, Boston, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Melbourne, Milan, Seoul, Tokyo, and Vancouver. The cities encompass a range of smart city development on selected critical issues in economic prosperity (future digital economy, smart retail, smart tourism), social inclusion (digital inclusion, digital placemaking, smart health service, smart youth empowerment), and environmental sustainability (climate resilience action, circular economy, smart climate action). The focus is on their challenges and course of action in and around the socio-technical systems and processes of sustainability transition. The chapters focus on emerging issues, enabling technologies, practical approaches, policies and case studies. The analysis recognises that smart city development takes place in a social context that, to some degree, will influence the adoption and effectiveness of technologies and ultimately, determine whether they meet end-user satisfaction. Smart city development is pivoted on technological changes, connectivity, and data, but also on people and government involvement and the transformation of urban living practices and conditions. This book aims to deepen dialogues on possible smart city strategies from the perspective of how people, organisations (e.g., processes, communication networks), and technologies interact to achieve individual, organisational, or societal goals.

De la mécanique, électronique, entrepreneuriat en passant par la communication, chacun de ces domaines ne cesse de connaitre d'innovations et de la concurrence. Tout est devenu compliqué et, l'homme a d'énormes difficultés pour ses retrouver devant ces changements. Les intellectuels se retrouvent de plus en plus obsolètes à cause d'incompatibilités entre les notions de l'université et ce qu'ils vivent dans la vie pratique.
