Ist es wirklich, wie er sagt, eine übernatürliche Gabe2), die es ihm ermöglicht, Menschen von ihren Krankheiten zu heilen, oder ist es nichts Weiteres als der Placeboeffekt?Mit dieser Frage soll die Arbeit "Ich glaube, also werde ich gesund." - Das Geheimnis des Placeboeffekts. herangegangen werden. Sie erörtert, wie und auf welche Art und Weise Placebos positiv den Heilungsprozess beeinflussen können, und letztendlich, welche Selbstheilungskräfte im Menschen verborgen sind, die den Placeboeffekt darstellen. Das Geheimnis um den Placeboeffekt wird insofern gelüftet, dadurch dass seine Mechanismen entschlüsselt werden. Mit diesem Wissen geht man nun auf die Einsatzbereiche des Placebos über und stellt seine Bedeutung für die Medizin dar. Vollständigkeitshalber soll auch auf die ethische Problematik eingegangen werden, wenngleich der Schwerpunkt der Arbeit ist, den vorteilhaften Nutzen von Placebos hervorzuheben.

The Hyphenated system of liquid chromatography (LC) and mass spectrometry (MS) (LC/MS/MS) presents an efficient screening tool that has resolved a lot of crude plant extracts providing a quick identification of novel chemical classes in addition to the use of a small amount of source material. A key for flavonoid identification using HPLC/MS/MS analysis: is a useful and easy to use guide with uncomplicated terminology for researchers using HPLC/MS/MS in identification of their plant extracts focusing on flavonoids. This book provides an overview about the different ionization techniques in analysis of flavonoids and the necessary conditions for their separation using HPLC. It also presents clear schemes and diagrams to acquaint the reader with the reason behind the obtained fragments in their chromatograms.

A Model For Chloride Penetration In Concrete
The major durability problem facing concrete structures in cold and marine regions is the corrosion of the reinforcing steel, mainly caused by chloride penetration, which results in the loss of structural integrity or even bearing capacity and subsequently collapse. A method for predicting the chloride ingress into concrete structures, which is the first and main phase of chloride induced reinforcement corrosion,is developed. It couples the problems of heat transfer, moisture transport, chloride diffusion and convection.The model is based on a multiscale two dimensional nonlinear time dependent finite element method. The model is capable of reproducing, with good precision, available test data.
